Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of InkJobs, a platform connecting writers in Kenya with paid academic and content-writing gigs, payable via M-Pesa. By creating an account or using InkJobs in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use InkJobs.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract in Kenya to use InkJobs. You must hold a valid, registered M-Pesa mobile number in your own name in order to receive payouts.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
• You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
• One InkJobs account per person. Multiple or fraudulent accounts may be suspended without notice.

4. Gigs, submissions & quality

InkJobs lists writing gigs (essays, research papers, proofreading, articles and similar work) posted by verified clients. When you claim a gig, you agree to:

• Deliver original, non-plagiarised work by the stated deadline;
• Follow the brief, formatting and referencing instructions provided for that gig;
• Not resell, redistribute, or reuse a client's brief or paid-for output outside the scope agreed on InkJobs;
• Accept that submissions may be checked for plagiarism and AI-generated content, and that gigs failing these checks may be rejected or unpaid.

InkJobs acts as a marketplace connecting writers and clients; final acceptance of a submission is at the reviewing client's reasonable discretion, subject to the gig brief being met.

5. Payments & M-Pesa payouts

• Rates for each gig are shown before you claim it and are paid per completed, approved gig.
• Approved earnings are paid out to your registered M-Pesa number, typically once the minimum payout threshold shown in the app is reached.
• InkJobs is not responsible for delays or failures caused by Safaricom, your network operator, or incorrect phone number details you provided.
• We may withhold or reverse payment for work that is plagiarised, AI-generated where disallowed, submitted late without agreement, or obtained fraudulently.

6. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• Submit plagiarised, contract-violating, or academically dishonest content where the gig brief prohibits it;
• Attempt to contact clients or arrange payment outside the InkJobs platform to avoid fees;
• Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to claim gigs unfairly;
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users, clients, or InkJobs staff;
• Upload malware or attempt to interfere with the security or operation of InkJobs.

7. Intellectual property

Unless a gig brief states otherwise, ownership of a completed, paid-for written work transfers to the client upon full payment. The InkJobs name, logo, and platform design remain the property of InkJobs and may not be copied or used without permission.

8. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, engage in fraud or plagiarism, or misuse the platform. You may close your account at any time by contacting support; outstanding approved earnings will still be paid out.

9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

InkJobs is provided "as is." We do not guarantee a minimum amount or frequency of available gigs. To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, InkJobs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
